Scallop Imaging
Scallop Imaging has developed a completely different approach to high resolution video imaging and as a result its cameras can do things that no other imaging system is capable of.
Instead of using a large, expensive, lens for wide-angle image capture and a large, expensive sensor for high resolution, Scallop Imaging cameras use multiple small sensors to do the same task and computationally fuses their outputs into one, non-fisheye 180° view in the camera. This approach brings a new and improved technology to security applications, offering sharp, clear 180° views, full scene situational awareness, and detail zoom windows, all with no motion artefacts and three times the resolution of conventional systems.
Scallop Imaging cameras are small, unobtrusive and because they are completely solid, have no moving parts or bearings to wear out. Besides these practical design and quality improvements, Scallop Imaging also brings a new economy to this field, allowing users to replace multiple cameras with a single, small device and reducing the number of visible cameras and the number of VMS licenses required.
Scallop Imaging has two digital surveillance cameras available:
- M6-200 camera – the first camera specifically designed for extreme low light performance with no loss of shutter speed; it has a 200° field of view and 6 Megapixels of resolution
- D7-180 camera – a 7 Megapixel camera producing a HD window that combines a constant 180˚ situational awareness view and up to four simultaneous super resolution detail views from anywhere in the field of regard
